Sometimes a mistake becomes your signature.
For Senior Perfumer Donna Ramanauskas, an accidental overdose of a dry amber note sparked a love for amber that would become an identifying thread in her work.
Her journey into perfumery started much earlier - growing up surrounded by the blotters, bottles and daily creations of her perfumer father. But becoming a perfumer herself meant finding her own creative voice, trusting her instincts and discovering what felt authentically hers.
In her latest Perfumer & Flavorist feature, “Finding Her Signature in Fragrance,” Donna shares the experiences that shaped her creativity and why unexpected turns can sometimes lead to the best discoveries.

13,000 pounds of eggplant. 🍆💪 Now THAT is a productive morning.
This week, members of our @agilexfragrances and @dsmfirmenich teams traded their desks (and blotters!) for the fields, volunteering with America’s @americasgrowarow to harvest fresh produce for families facing food insecurity across our region.
Alongside volunteers from other local companies, the team harvested more than 13,000 pounds of eggplant! That’s enough for an estimated 53,000 servings of fresh food headed to local food pantries and hunger relief programs.
A morning well spent, an incredible organization to support, and another reminder of what can happen when people roll up their sleeves and work together. 💚
