Meet Tom Siedel — Director of Perfumery, Senior Perfumer! Tom’s fragrance journey began while pursuing his degree in pharmacy. In a twist of fate, a summer internship at a fragrance house sparked magic. Following his talents in chemistry and creativity, Tom accepted an apprenticeship in perfumery which bloomed into 30 years of expertise as perfumer. He considers perfumery an art form and the perfect balance between scientist and artist.
Tom thinks fragrances should make us feel an emotion and allow us to vicariously experience a moment in time. He reflects on memories to conjure up smells that resonate with emotion. He recalls his first olfactive experience — the green smell of grass laced with earthy notes and hints of hemlock from his parent’s NJ backyard. His lifelong appreciation for nature’s beauty, and the many smells of mother earth, provides visualization for his scent creations. “Nature is the definition of inspiration for me, I see its unique beauty all the time, everywhere I go.”
